RIDE INFO
2011 Overland Women's Ride
This year we will be doing a Wagon Wheel out of Pipe's Canyon. We park in Pioneer Town, and then ride the SawTooth trail and end in Pipe's Canyon, where we will make out camp for the next three nights. The ride is May 12th- 15th. We will ride fantastic trails each of the three days. The scenery is very striking, with many rock formations and fabulous views. Please ensure that both you and your horse are in shape and legged up for a good amount of climbing. The cost is $250.00 per rider including all meals for you and your horse from Thursday dinner through Sunday morning. Beer, wine, liquor and sodas are also included in this cost.
2010 Overland Women's Ride
Last Year's ride was a four Day ride, leaving May 13th, and riding back into Norco on May 16th. We rode from Gilman Springs, through Lake Perris back into Norco. The scenery was beautiful with plenty rolling hills to traverse every day. We rode about 6-7 hours per day, with plenty of stops and water whenever possible.
2009 Overland Women’s Ride
Two years ago, we rode from Lake Elsinore back into Norco, which was the first time ever that we had rode back into town. What a thrill for us to have our friends and family watching as we rode into town and arrive at Filippi’s Pizza Grotto for the Awards Ceremony and Buckle presentation on Sunday afternoon, May 17th.
We had press coverage and a wonderful turnout of friends and family to welcome us home!

GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS
- Under no circumstances, we ask that you DO NOT TIE UP to any steel. This especially includes any kind of Trucks and/or Trailers. All of the vehicles that we use are personal vehicles of the Ground Crew and must be respected.
- Please respect all of the camps that we will be staying in. These friends have opened their properties to us and we need to take care of them. Please clean-up and help police the area while you are there and before you leave. Once in camp, please stay in camp. No riding out on your own due to safety reasons.
- This is a group ride. As a group, we all work together. The entire Ground Crew are volunteers. If help is needed with anything, please jump in and help. And always thank your crew!
- No smoking on the trail. Please only smoke on breaks, lunch stop. No littering on the trail. Please pack your trash, butts and cans out with you. If you smoke, you will need to bring a trash bag so you can take your butts home with you. Ground Crew will NOT Be the ones picking up your cigarette butts for 2 hours after you leave a stop. YOU will be left behind while you pick them up.
- When you come into each camp, the water buckets will be empty and upside down. The Trail Boss will call for water after we have been in camp for a short time so that the horses do not tie-up. We will have a water stop 20-30 minutes before the end of each day, where permitted, to hydrate your horses before they sit on a tie line.Tying up can be a huge problem when watering your horse right after riding before they are cooled down a bit. We would ask that you water your horse a little at first and then bring them back often. Please remember to water your horse several times during their meals. Make sure you water them when you first get up and before you go to bed. They do not have any way to get water except for you providing it to them.
- Feed time is important. The Trail Boss will call feed time. We all feed together, at the same time. To avoid wasting hay and having a big mess to clean-up, feed your horse light in the morning and heavy at night. If you bring grain, please take your horse off the tie-line to feed separately from the others to avoid any complications.
- We have a Horse Ambulance for Emergency use only. This is not for riders to depend on, unless their horse is injured and cannot continue the ride. If you plan to change horses or gear out during the ride for any other reason, please ensure that you arrange for your own transportation in and out of camp.
- Some of you have not had your horses on a tie line at night. The first night is the hardest. If your horse is used to a particular horse on the ride, please tie next to that horse. Riding together will promote that situation and comfortability for your horse. Whoever your horse tied well with the first night, continue to tie next to that horse the rest of the trip. Committee members will keep their eye open for rank horses on the line. If need be, and for the safety of your horse and others, you may be asked to move your horse to a rank line set-up. If possible, practice tying your horse to a tie-line prior to the ride.
- Meal times – you will be washing your own plate and cup (that you provided). We would ask that prior to washing your plate in the dishwater, you scrape it and wipe off any excess food into the trash can.
- There are no firearms allowed on this ride. For obvious safety reasons, as well as our camp sites are all private, secure properties.
- Please bring your own cutlery, cup, plate, and water canteens and bottles. (Due to excessive trash) We will not be providing bottled water this year, only very large containers for you to fill your canteen from.
- To make this ride enjoyable for all members, please try to limit: tailgating (always keep a horse's length in front of you), Horseplay, Language, WHINING, and general bad attitudes. Be sure to leave your tiarra in the trailer, Primadonnas need not apply!
